Rough Monsters-Rejected Ideas.

Managed to rough out this monsters for ANDIKA final battle....Doesn't look good for me yet...Still didn't get the right design.Arghh.....such a tough thing between surviving and trying to continue this project.

ANDIKA in KRE8TIF 2010 submission

Just sent ANDIKA to KRE8TIF Award 2010 submission today for Digital Comic Category.Winning will be a bonus and a great exposure for this project but the truth is I just wanted to participated into the industry...see how it goes.Good luck ANDIKA.....

My end battle rough thumbnail is about to finish.Can't wait to sketch them all.I will probably choose Karangkraf to publish Andika because of its quality.Please support Andika,okay.Thank you.

So many spam in my comments!Just clean up all the spam....As you see ANDIKA has it own facebook now.Anyone can click LIKE at it for who has facebook and support ANDIKA comic.I will try to update any progress in Andika as frequent but you know me ...between doing jobs for survival and comics....it's not an easy task.BUT!I can't let that hold me down from releasing ANDIKA,right .So that's why it is important that I get your support.
Though I have all the RAW colored pages I still didn't have time to edit it but managed to complete the whole plot of ANDIKA 4 chapter story.
I might share some of the rough plot and details on Neosantara universe here....Just pray for me on having that time...

Andika updates 2.0

Finally received all colored pages of ANDIKA from the colorist.I am pretty happy with the looks but still there's some pages need to be adjust and tune up.I will get the psd file from my colorist somewhere next week after I've clear up all my current works.
Next step to is to put down all the final dialogue and effects and compile it for a publisher/fund
hunting purposes.At the same time need to start the additional pages as well.Hope I can find my time.
When it all done I might display some updates final comic page here.

Comic,Jobs and Bills

It has been more than a month I've not updating my blog here.I have to hold the ANDIKA project for a while as I got some important jobs to be completed.It feels a bit suck that I have to halt the project when I was in a big spirit to do it.But I need to eat and pay bills...so I got to sacrifice.
I'm a bit worried if the publishers that I aim for will lose interest on my comic due to my long delay.Anyway I'm trying to finish up the jobs by this 20th June and I'm going to continue to finish up the ANDIKA project.My estimation of complete ANDIKA....in another 3 month.....but....if the publisher agreed, ANDIKA might be released a bit sooner but as a 1st part from the whole story.But that is still under negotiation....Above is a Perang Kampung art that I do for XLID's comic as a guest artist.Perang Kampung is a winner of IPCC comic as well same year as me.It will be released soon.

Updates ANDIKA April

It seems since March there are not much progress on my comic ANDIKA.Not that I have no hearts to continue but tons of jobs are need to be completed in this 2-3 month time.Yeah,lots of jobs means lots of money...yup,it might be true BUT you must also remember,...lots of money means need to pay lots of endless debt.I wish I can enjoy all the payments but well I got lot of priorities to be done.Nah,it's not that bad actually.It's part of my plan for this year anyway.To eliminate those unnecessary debts,to start saving so can plan lots of things such as travelling or buying a house,insyaallah.
And I wanted to make a good relationship with all of my clients if I want to keep the jobs coming so I can live as a full time freelancer without being broke.I love what I have right now though I am not that well-lived like I worked before where I'll get paid on every 21st-26th every month.As long I managed to pay my car,house rent,electrics,internet and enough food and fuel,I am happy already.But I always try to improve my way of life of course by finding and delivering a good jobs.Most importantly,I can control my own time.
However,my colorist is doing his final touch ups on the ANDIKA comic.It may take in 3 weeks to complet all and left me with another 20 pages at least to complete the whole of this ZERO issue,which I have to color it by myself.What can I say most of this 20 pages are the final fight scene.I can't wait to finish up this comic.I have a few ideas on new stories to develop as well and maybe when I'm done with this ANDIKA zero issue project,I'll do a new story.It is quite simple story which related with Mecha,Farming in village and alien life form.Still in my head processing.Don't worries..... while I start drawing for this robotic comic,I am also writting the sequel of ANDIKA which I will work it as soon after I finish that robot project.

Publish Comic in Malaysia

Now that's ANDIKA is about to finish,I am blank with where and how I'm going to publish it.Of course the thing great with being a winner of comic IPCC grant is you get to publish your work through the most best comic book publishers in Malaysia.The deal is they can't deny all the winners if we want to publish our masterpiece through them and we also can keep our IP and get the royalty as well.For me who has been like forever in this industry,the deal is simply FANTASTICALLISTIC!10-15 years back before, comic artist like me was just like a bug who easily get squashed by the the people who THINKS they know everything about comic.Well...now,we are still a bug,ONLY that we are a bit bigger bugs,knowledgeable bugs and we are increasing numbers(harharhar).
Its great to know that your work is ready to be publish by all of these big publishers together with you can keep your IP and royalty and all BUT my only problem is the printing quality that I have in my mind for my comic are not the same with their printing spec.I was imagine something like DC or IMAGE comic kind of graphic novel(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphic_novel) because me with my team has put a 100 percent effort on completing this project.Of course I deserve a better looks on my printed comic!Beside I have wait like more than 10 years to released my debut comic.I have spilled blood,tears,sweat and soul to get me to this point.
It seems that the big publishers here in Malaysia,they have a specific budget for the project.The quality of the papers and size didn't suit with my comic style.Not that I'm saying its bad,but I have an initial idea the looks of my comic looks like.I guess if I want to released my comic like I plan for(I believe all the the readers out there want a great quality for things that they want to buy)I need to add up an additional cash for it.Or publish it by myself.
It sounds easy but for me who work as a full time freelancer and have bills to pay,it's not easy but it's not impossible as well.
Now I'm trying to figure out a way to get an extra fund for publish my ANDIKA comic.There are some ideas but still need to be think through.I can't wait to publish it and sell it and start the new volume with a new adventure.

ANDIKA digital comic teaser online akhirnya

It has been a very good meeting in this third mentoring session.All the panel judges satisfied with the work we presented , especially on comic digital.Kudos to Max from Visible Concept who made it so great and also to my wife who come up with the concept..There is still one more meeting left for the final submission.Overall we have completed the task that they wanted us to do.Now its time to refine and add up some pages to make the story flow better.

It's in Bahasa Malaysia now and we are planning to translate it in english together with sound and some additional pages by end of this month.
I am still learning how to make a living through this work of mine,through online....is it possible?

IPCC Comic Final Mentor Session Postpone

Penat gak lah aku berlari........Well bagus jugak....

Deadline tomorrow.

The deadline is tomorrow.There's a few little things to be done and hopefully we managed to completed it before tomorrow.It has been a tough month as we press ourselves to finish up this comic.We have scout a few publishing house and it seems if we wanted to publish here in Malaysia,we need to come up an alternative finance to continue the rest of the 3 volume.We can't blame them for this as the comic industry here are very very small though we have tons of talents.
ANDIKA is a long term project and we estimate that we need a 1 years and a half to completed the whole volume...And thats is just the beginning for the Neosantara epic saga.ANDIKA is just one of the many main characters that have a crucial role in this whole universe.We hope we can continue this journey till we reach the ultimate conclusion of the Neosantara world.
Here is my beta version cover for my presentation tomorrow.Of course when the comic officially published,the cover will be more awesome than this!Just wait and see.Wink!

So far so good....

Only 1 strip left,a cover(with colour),A title font,few pages digital comic and dialogue insert for the whole pages.Have to completed all of this before 1 March.The date of last submission.Never been worked so hard like this for a comic.Hope it will be a worth while.

Senak!

Sedang senak mengejar deadline comic IPCC 2 Mac ini.Kalau tak siap grant kene tarik balik...fuh!sekarang ni aku bukan worries pasal duit tu saja tapi masa dan usaha yang aku dan para team yang terlibat dengan projek ni.Beratnya otak bila dipikirkan.Ada seminggu lagi nak settlekan sume ni.Dah la page2 akhir ni sumenya massive2 je artwork dia...ngan perang,mayat bergelimpangan dan kuda.....Fuh!Walau cemana pun aku kene gagahkan mental dan fizikal aku untuk menghabiskan karya debut aku nih.....Lama sudah aku mengidam komik sendiri...dan untuk berkongsi fantasi bersama ngan peminat komik kat Malaysia ni....Doakan aku dan kami.......Ok nak gi lunch dulu..pas ni sambung masuk gua balik...(silap aribulan 2-3 hari ni berkurung dlm bilik keje...tak tido sama ngan bini pasal nak siapkan keje...Hwaaaaa!!!)

Apa itu Neosantara?

Neosantara adalah merupakan satu dunia alternat dimana sejarah asal di dunia telah
berubah akibat dari satu insiden yang berlaku berjuta-juta tahun dahulu yang melibatkan
ruang perjalanan masa dan dimensi yang terganggu.Ia mempengaruhi corak kehidupan manusia,
cuaca sekeliling dan tenaga yang memenuhi ruang kehidupan di dunia di waktu itu.
Kawasan Nusantara yang paling kuat menerima pengaruh perubahan ini.Ini kerana
insiden itu berlaku di kawasan kepulauan Nusantara.Oleh kerana masa dunia ini telah
dicacatkan,berbagai makhluk2 purba dongeng berkeliaran seperti Garuda,Duyung Sang
Kelembai dan juga manusia seperti Badang.

Neosantara juga merupakan sebuah empayar Kemelayuan yang besar terdiri dari gabungan
empayar-empayar utama di seluruh kawasan Asia Tenggara.Bermula dari Siam,
meluas kepada Burma,Malaysia,Sumatera hinggalah ke serata kepulauan Indonesia,
empayar Neosantara telah menjadi sebuah kerajaan yang dikenali dan disegani di
seluruh dunia.Kebangkitan kerajaan melayu pada mata dunia ini juga telah menjadi
satu ancaman kepada empayar barat yang ingin melaksanakan Kempen Penaklukan
Dunia Sejagat.Raja Tuah ,bekas Laksamana kerajaan Melaka yang mengambil
alih tempat Sultan Mahmud yang ghaib entah ke mana adalah orang yang
merealisasikan idea ini.Dia juga adalah raja kepada empayar yang besar ini.

Anak-anak muda melayu pada era ini tidak hanya menuntut ilmu silat dan pertanian semata
malah berminat dalam ilmu penggabungan mistik dan ilmu moden dan juga ilmu penciptaan.
Era ini juga terdapat guru guru yang mendidik cara mengawal kuasa dan kehidupan mistik
untuk menjana jentera-jentera yang besar dan kompleks seperti Bahtera Awan(Kapal
Gergasi sebesar 8 buah Titanic yang dijana oleh kuasa mistik dan bukannya minyak
atau gas) atau sistem pentadbiran kota seperti pembersihan,api (elektrik)dan air.

Cuaca di Nusantara adalah sama seperti negara yang mempunyai 4 musim.Tenaga
yang sangat kuat di Nusantara membuatkan ramai rakyat di sini berkebolehan
mengawal kuasa mistik seperti cakra,elemental dan makhluk halus seperti jin.Namun
ia tetap perlu di pelajari dan di kuasai untuk memperolehi keistimewaannya.Terdapat
juga kehidupan makhluk makhluk ganjil yang hidup sekali secara terbuka atau sembunyi
di Neosantara.

Kembali kepada kekuatan empayar Neosantara,mereka di geruni dan di segani kerana
karisma Raja Tuah,kecanggihan tentera mereka dan juga yang paling utama,iaitu
sekutu utama mereka,bangsa Sriangkara yang hampir pupus tetapi sangat kuat yang
juga dikenali sebagai dewa dikalangan manusia.Mereka yang mendiami gunung
gunung yang tinggi,mempunyai kekuatan lebih dari manusia,mempunyai pengawalan
kuasa dan cakra peringkat tertinggi dan juga boleh terbang.

Walaupun mereka bangsa yang kuat,ketahanan hayat mereka bergantung kepada
Padi Emas yang hanya boleh di tanam oleh tangan manusia.Mereka bergantung pada
manusia untuk terus hidup.Selain daripada menjadi barisan pertahanan utama untuk
empayar,mereka juga menjadi pelindung tanaman dan pelindung masyarakat daripada
gangguan binatang dan makhluk makhluk mistik.Rakyat di Neosantara dan bangsa
Sriangkara hidup bersama dengan harmoni.Namun begitu terdapat juga segelintir
dari mereka yang tidak bersependapat di dalam hal hidup bersama dengan manusia
dan mereka lebih cenderung kepada cara kejahatan dan keganasan.
